Planting Seeds of Faith

We’ve been growing bean seeds in ziplock bags on our window sill, part of a science experiment for our home school. I’ve loved watching those little guys grow every day. For a few days, nothing at all happened. Then, almost like magic, they sprouted and took off.

Must Our Children Obey?

“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ‘Honor your father and mother’—which is the first commandment with a promise— ‘that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.’ Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:1-4).

God's Lesson Plans

In our Bible study of Ephesians today, we learn that we are members of God’s household, “built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets” (Ephesians 2:19-20).

Paul refers to this again in 2 Timothy 3:14-17, when he reminds young pastor Timothy,

“But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
