Today we’re going to continue our look at the two books, The Seven Laws of Teaching by John Milton Gregory, and The Seven Laws of the Teacher by Howard Hendricks.
The second “law” we’re going to consider is “The Law of the Learner.”…
When I was in high school, I had the privilege of taking a “how to teach” class from one of our school’s elementary teachers. I took the class because I was considering majoring in elementary education in college, so I wanted to see if I would like it or not.…
Maybe it was because we were married young, or maybe it was because we hadn’t learned to trust God very well with our money… but for whatever reason, we had a rough start money-wise to our marriage. We made lots of mistakes, and some of those mistakes are still haunting us today.…
It’s February, and here in snowy Minnesota, our local public school planned two days of vacation into their calendar — today and Monday. I think it’s a good idea, since school starts feeling a little “old” this time of year. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize that it was a day off school, so I didn’t plan a break into our calendar.…

Hanukkah means dedication, so it is known as the Feast of Dedication (or re-dedication), and it is also known as the Festival of Lights. It is not a commanded feast, but it is fun, and there is a lot to learn from it as well, so why not celebrate it? …
Running a home business is becoming more and more popular these days, especially in light of the economic times. I feel that a homeschooling family can really benefit from having a home business for many reasons.
Being a former homeschooler myself, I know firsthand that it can be hard financially to operate on one income.…
My friends over at the Unclutterer had a great idea on their blog today. The basic idea is to use inexpensive matte-finish oil cloth, plus chalk, to decorate your table for Thanksgiving. You can write right on your tablecloth, to put names where guests are to sit, to label dishes, or to keep the kids from getting bored by letting them play tic-tac-toe, etc.…
